I have always been drawn to opportunities that enrich other people's lives. Growing up with a mother who is a behavioral health professional, a cousin who has Autism, and a family who practices Tikkun Olam (translated from Hebrew to “world repair”), I naturally wanted to perform acts of service from an early age.

One of my most meaningful experiences during high school has been my involvement in Yachad, a “Jewish organization that helps to enhance life opportunities” for teenagers and adults with disabilities. Every other Sunday, I spend my time assisting our members engage in inclusive recreational and skill building activities: sushi and dessert making, silent discos, magic shows, and exercise classes. I always love dancing with Randy to “YMCA” like we were on Dancing with the Stars or helping Avi make chocolate.

Through my experiences with Yachad, I have gained insight on how to approach and interact with individuals with disabilities. I also proudly helped raise over $1,500 during their annual 24-hour Giving Back Day last year and am excited to participate again today! I am grateful for the opportunity to work with Yachad and the many amazing individuals I have met over the past several years. I look forward to serving my community and providing service to others as I embark on future endeavors.
