Yachad Chicago is a place where people with intellectual/developmental disabilities thrive. It's a place where people come to belong, meet friends, and engage in ways they wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity. At Yachad Chicago, people have made friends, learned to grow vegetables, engaged in the performing arts on stage for a live audience, attended live performances, learned the value of exercise, explored the city while taking public transportation discovered new hobbies & are empowered by their abilities. Yachad is a place where participants look forward to attending Yachad Chicago's programs from Sunday to Thursday.
The programs offered by Yachad Chicago are unique in every way & driven by participant's choice.
We've even been the host site of shidduchim (matchmaking in which Jewish singles are introduced to one another in Orthodox communities for the purpose of marriage).
We pride ourselves on developing programs that the participants desire. If they ask, we do our best to make it happen.
We now have a new site to call "home". In our new home, we will have a LIVING ROOM where participants during the day can come to hang out, engage with their friends, and have a place to be and a purpose which many people in the disability world lack. There is so much loneliness and isolation, we're hoping to end this by inviting them to the Living Room!!!!
We have the love, the care, the ruach, we need your funds to help defray the costs of participation and fill the Living Room with much-needed furniture.
Thank you for your support in ensuring everyone has a place to belong!
