Let’s Make a Difference B’Yachad!

As soon as the shutdown began, Yachad on Demand was created, and for over 18 months, we provided 12 quality weekly online programs AT NO COST. In the summer, we provided a Backyard Buddy program, where staff provided over 90 one-on-one visits to our members.

Our amazing and innovative programs kept going, giving participants and their caregivers the support, inspiration and respite they needed.

We even had one Yachad Toronto member who participated in 752 events this past year!!

Just last month, with much excitement, we launched our partnership with the Prosserman JCC, and have an amazing home for Yachad Toronto. At our beautiful new Social Hub, members participate in exercise classes, baking lessons, games, art lessons, and enjoy dinner together. Our “Social Hub” is a one-of-a-kind program that is not offered anywhere else in the GTA.

At the Social Hub, young adults with special needs come together to build relationships, participate in programs, and learn life skills, all while having typically developing peers by their side; this simultaneously provides much needed respite for their families.

Everyone is welcome at The Social Hub; no one is turned away for financial reasons.
