Let’s Make a Difference B’Yachad!

In 2021, we demonstrated our resilience in the face of the current challenges. Despite the challenges facing the greater world as a result of shutdowns, Yachad's innovative programs kept going, giving participants and their caregivers the support and inspiration they needed.

As leaders of programming for individuals with disabilities, Yachad continued to lead through innovations such as Yachad on Demand, the launch of a pre camp summer program, the launch of Sibshops for siblings of individuals with disabilities, sending Jewish holiday boxes to each of our members, Yachad’s birthday club and securing 21 jobs via Yachad’s adult day services. Our inclusive Summer camps took place where possible and our programming ran on overdrive to make up for what was lost during these difficult times.

Over the past year, Yachad New York has increased membership by 25%, running 10-13 in person programs a week between our Brooklyn, Manhattan, Monsey, Long Island & Queens chapters. We look forward to bringing back some of our hotel Shabbatonim in safe and meaningful ways.

By the numbers:

Participants This Year: 800!

Holiday Baskets Provided: Over 3,500

Yachad on Demand (Virtual) Classes: 4,000

We even had one Yachad member who participated in 752 events this past year!

In October, we proudly launched REACH, the 1st independent database for disability related questions where individuals can call and receive personalized responses for their unique situations. We are currently serving NY State & with G-d’s help look to expand Nationwide in the near future.

But, as always, your help is needed. We have so much more we want to accomplish and provide for the community.
