In 1983, Yachad began, aiming to fill a void in the Jewish world. A space was desperately needed for those with disabilities to be able to experience Jewish life and community to their fullest. Looking back, 36 years later, we’ve achieved that, and so much more. From vocational training and job placements, to schools, to our ever-expanding summer programs and Shabbatonim, we’ve changed countless lives, families, and communities for the better.

Our work however is never done. We want to do more, reach more people, expand to more locations, offer more programming and services. And we can’t do it without you.

Because of your friendship and support, we have launched a vocational training program with Five Star Catering, opened a regular Sunday social program and hosted social programs and Shabbatons (weekend retreats).

We opened the Mendel Balk Community Center to provide regular inclusive weeknight programs for teens and adults with disabilities. The Center has tripled in size over the past year and been such a success that this year we are opening a program for younger kids. We believe this program could make a huge difference in the lives of our younger members, but we cannot make this dream a reality without your support.
