You’ve all seen the recent headlines. With anti-Semitism on the rise, government funding for nonpublic school security has never been more urgent.

Kids shouldn't have to fear going to school, and parents shouldn't have to fear sending them. Fortunately, a fight for more security resources is already underway.

Since 2013, Teach Coalition has been fighting and successfully winning critical security dollars and security resources.

Teach NYS saw a massive increase in security funding for nonpublic schools, from $4.5 million in 2013 to a record-breaking $60 million in 2019.

Teach NJ helped lead the fight for a bill that would DOUBLE security funding this year to $22.6 million, or $150 per pupil

Teach FL championed the state’s first security funding in 2017, which grew to $2.5 million in 2019-20

Teach PA has fought to increase school security allocations over the past six years, from $240,000 to $3.2 million for the current school year. This year PA created a new $5 million grant program for nonprofits at risk of hate crimes.

Teach MD led the creation of a security grant program for schools that doubled in size this year to $2 million - on top of an existing $3.5 million nonpublic school building security upgrade program.

Teach CA successfully increased funding for at-risk institutions from $500,000 to $15 million this year. Additionally, the CA state grant program now allows for at-risk institutions to use state funds for security personnel.

But we can do more. We must do more. And with your help, we will do more.
