Northeast NCSY & JSU spans New England (NER) & Upstate NY (Har Sinai) - both areas which have a rich history of NCSY and a track record of incredible leadership, and impacted over 700 teens this year. To continue this important work, our annual Giving Day is a chance for alumni, parents, community members, and friends to come together and hit a big goal in support of all of the incredibly hard work our staff and advisors put in to ensure they are there for every teen looking to connect in our region.

Your support will help raise crucial funds to support growth across the region, and continued local programming in our communities. Your support also enables us to connect more teens through scholarships with some of our most impactful Regional and National programs: Regional Shabbatons, Summer programs, Yarchei Kallah, Chessed missions, Gap Year Scholarships and more!

Stamford - R' Yaakov Faratci

This year has been our most expansive and powerful yet, with over 150 Jewish teens and middle schoolers in the community impacted by Stamford NCSY! We had an inspiring weekly Soosh and Shmooze program dominated by our public school teens and monthly shabbatons which brought the teen community together for meals and activities. Our local day school club had over twenty teens committed to learning Torah together on a weekly basis! Our advisors came in and took our teens’ learning to the next level, raising the level of Jewish engagement and promoting the importance of being role models for others.

We danced through the night on Simchat Torah with over 50 teens, cleaned a local polluted lake for the community, became champions at our world record smash party, had a toy drive for our local hospital at our Chanukah party, had a bubble soccer bonanza, and that was only the beginning! We are living in a generation in which our teens need Jewish engagement more than ever. They are thirsty to be part of a community to feel meaning and connection in their lives that is filled with substance. They need to feel accepted and uplifted. They need to feel that their Judaism is a gateway to true joy and that their Jewish pride grows stronger. We are not having this giving day to celebrate this past year, we are calling on you to help us answer the desires of the teens and middle schoolers in our communities and push for more. Stamford NCSY needs your partnership more than ever to make this a reality.

West Hartford - Ariel Wernick

This year at NCSY has been hopping and lively! Our roadshows were amazing! We had inspiring Friday night onegs where we sang our hearts out, learning sessions where we talked deeply about our Jewish identity and moving ebbing, praying, and Havdalah!

We met over zoom for learning and pizza making. We went bowling and we had Chabura and Chinese food learning together!

Most importantly, the relationship and sense of community we have built together with the Advisors and the NCSYers in West Hartford have been amazing! The future looks bright and we can’t wait to see what it will bring!

Albany - Jack Hartstein

We definitely CAPITALIZED on NY states’ loosening of COVID restrictions and were privileged to be back in person!!!

Simchas Torah Carlos and Gabby’s meals, weeknight Donuts and Discussions, to a record 5 chapter shabbatons with incredible advisors, it has been a true blessing to enable the future leaders of the Jewish people to connect to each other and to their sacred heritage in the most fun and warm environments.

Please allow us to continue to expand our impact and our reach in NY’s Capital district. Allow us to host more high quality events so we can continue to show the beauty of Torah Judaism to its baton bearers in the most respectable and exciting ways.

Rochester - Asher Gritz

Rochester NCSY brought a fire of Torah and Judaism to the pride of Northeast NCSY, the teens of Rochester. We started the year with Simchas Torah, continued with monthly Shabbatons, warmed our hearts with Yarchei Kallah, and joined with Albany to dedicate the Berkowitz’s Sefer Torah. The growth seen in each and every teen, testifies to the spark which was ignited by the programming our donors have made possible. Advisor-Teen Chavrusa’s, Torah learning, commitments to growth, Tefillin streaks, and tznius appreciation are mainstays of our teens vocabulary. Our teens, with the life and ruach they bring to NCSY, need your support to continue the growth and commitments in their Jewish Journey into next year.
